While Tess does not care for the animals directly, her utter passion and love for animals comes through in absolutely everything she does.

Together As A Family

Our Vision

Rare Flocks Farm is more than a farm — it is a collaboration of passion, purpose, and perspective. Founded and run by three women whose strengths come from very different walks of life, the farm exists at the intersection of biodiversity, craftsmanship, and community connection.

At its heart, Rare Flocks Farm is dedicated to preserving rare breeds, nurturing sustainable landscapes, and creating ethically produced fibre products that honour both animal and environment. Every decision made on the farm reflects a belief that agriculture can be regenerative, thoughtful, and deeply human.

Michelle, a biodiversity and environmental specialist, guides the ecological vision of the farm. Her work ensures that land stewardship sits alongside production, protecting native ecosystems while supporting healthy pastures and thriving animals. Under her care, Rare Flocks Farm functions as a living ecosystem — one where farming enhances, rather than competes with nature.

Tracy brings mastery of fibre craftsmanship. With extensive experience transforming raw fleece into finished fibre, she oversees the journey from animal to artisan material. Through washing, dyeing, spinning, and skeining, Tracy ensures each fleece retains its individuality, allowing makers and fibre artists to work with materials that carry authenticity, character, and story.

Tess is the connective force that turns vision into experience. Acting as the bridge between farm and customer, she brings clarity, organisation, and accessibility to the business. Tess makes it easy for clients to discover the fibres, products, and values behind Rare Flocks Farm — ensuring that every interaction feels welcoming, simple, and personal.

Together, these three women form a rare balance of science, skill, and service.

Rare Flocks Farm stands as a celebration of diversity — in people, animals, landscapes, and ideas. By combining environmental stewardship, traditional fibre arts, and thoughtful customer connection, the farm offers more than products; it offers a story of collaboration, sustainability, and care woven into every fleece, fibre, and experience.

With the bonds of family, the undying love for nature and the blissful joy that comes from doing something we love day in and day out with the people we treasure the most... it hardly feels like work at all.
